Flip Broadband is one of the new breed of NZ broadband providers. Flip Broadband say that they do the same thing differently giving you cheap and reliable broadband plans whilst looking to keep the other NZ broadband providers on their toes.
Flip Broadband provide only a few different broadband plans as they like to keep things simple.
Flip Broadband don't yet offer Flip Ultrafast Fibre Broadband but they do have different broadband plans with different data limits and variable speeds. Flip offer all different types of broadband connection, Flip Fast Broadband or Flip Very Fast Broadband - even the broadband plan names are simple at Flip internet.
Flip Broadband also offer two great value adds. You can get FREE NATIONAL CALLING for one hour at a time which then costs 20c p/min after that... or just hang up before the hour is up to avoid paying the per minute charge. Or you can select FREE 60 CARRY OVER MINUTES. The carry over minutes don't expire for a whole year and can be used to call 85 destinations including New Zealand mobile phone numbers.

Flip Internet provides broadband internet just like the big telcos, except at Flip Internet the big difference is they give it to you with no contracts, carry over data and leading online support.

Flip Internet only provide phone support for Technical Issues – 10am to 7pm, every day of the week.

Not happy with their support. I had my service cut in spite of having an auto payment system. They say their system had my payment cut off because my card expired! What a load of crap! I had other auto payments done too but that did not stop their payments through my card. I think their system is outdated.
I lost all my carry forward datas and minutes and they did not reimburse me back for it as I have to start a new account with them and could not use my old account.

After sales service is poor. Getting a call through takes ages for them to answer. Keeps saying its faster to email technical support.

Judging by other reviews, I seem to have similar issues. Unreliable line speeds, which seem to come to a virtual standstill in the evenings. Have completely given up on calling support who always seem to think that rebooting my modem will solve just about any internet related issue.
Crap line speed, sometimes as low as 175kb/sec

This is the worst internet I have ever used. No speed at all.
No pros except cheap.
But why do the customers even pay a cheap rate witjout having internet for days. Very frustrating.

We've just gone for more than a month without reliable internet access. (This happens in winter - seems to be related to rainy weather.) I resorted to going to the library to do my internet banking! Lousy excuse for tech support, featuring:
turn your modem off for a couple of minutes then back on
unplug the cables and then re-plug
it must be your modem (can't be as the landline goes via Flip also, and can be tried independently of the modem - never worked when the internet ...read more

Speed is 8/10 because I've settled for ADSL, rather than paying the extra for fibre. For ADSL, though, the service seems good -- well over 8 Mb/s down speed. Support graded as 8/10 only because I haven't needed any! Any outages have been fixed before I've had a chance to call support. I'm not sure I had to call them even when I was connecting up my modem when joining.
Excellent value and, apparently, a professional service.
No fixed IP. Most people don't need it: only people who know for sure that they need it will care. (In my case, I only found out when trying to play Elite: Dangerous. Who knew?)

Internet will lose connection every 10 minutes or so. Had the connection disconnect for an entire day. Very unreliable, had to resort to getting unlimited phone data to have any stable internet connection at home. I would not reccomend Flip to others.
No stable connection, slow speed, very unsatisfactory service.
