MyRepublic believes in delivering an awesome internet experience for all kiwis at mass market prices. All this with no lag, no limits and no holding back.

Pretty good experience all round, only problem that we had was the switch over to fibre but that got sorted pretty quickly so no stress. A+ ISP, definitely not leaving because i was dissatisfied at all just wanting a change/better deals.

We never got proper fibre speeds with them, Vdsl seemed to be the same as fibre and to make matters worse in the last couple of months of our contract it seemed like our internet would slow down towards the end of a billing cycle.

Pros:

Easy to deal with initially

Cons:

On going support - once the guy who signed me up had my signature he didn't want to know me.

Managing to get good download rates (~920 down) and price seems quite reasonable for their high-end gamer plans. Any of the techs from MyRep I've spoken to seemed quite helpful when it came to their upgraded D-Link router. Only downside I've really seen with my own account is their payment options are quite limited as they only do debit/credit card and not bank deposit.

Pros:

Fast speed for Ultra Range plans if you have good hardware
The support staff I've spoken with seem to have good knowledge levels.

Cons:

Require on-time payment from debit/credit card.

2x 24 month unlimited gamer connections at our address
1x 100/50
1x 1000/500

Pros:

The support tech's are good guys, are realy frendly and helpful, cheep if you were to recive 100% or even 50% of your service

Cons:

Loss of connection (fiber and VOP) every day on at lest one of the connections if not both, 23months have been through 5 new router 3 new ONTs calming it's us and not my republic, now they are blaming Northpower who can get 1000/800 when they come over and use there test line.
My republic says they are not in breach as they only have to supply you a min of 10% of your monthly connection, this last month hasn't come soon enough. From day 1 problims with wrong email and customers name so my bI'll went some were elce after my initial setup with my email and name on my contract that I singed and sent back, promised 6 month half priced sent keybord and mouse told it was theft as I opened a package sent to me asmuming this was part of my contract so had to change as they wouldn't take it back, the managers just like to threaten and don't take responsibility for there duck ups., also know 2 other address with sane problim in our town.

I have been without a land line for seven days. They don't get back to me despite promising to do so. I have been on hold for over two hours three times since I have been trying to contact them. When I do get through, they tell me "I" have to sort out the phone problem with my previous ISP. The previous ISP states My Republic can sort it out directly with Chorus.

Pros:

Fast and cheeper.

Cons:

You better hope you dont have any problems... They are THE WORST ISP for support. (And I have dealt with... IGrin, IHUG, Xtra, Slingshot, Vodafone, Freenet, Paradise to name a few!)

I've been stuck with these guys on a contract and the experience has been very, very poor. Connection constantly drops (up to 40 times a day according the connection logs. They say isn't their fault ( they blame Chorus). That may be true, but it doesn't excuse the execrable support from this company. Chorus, on the other hand, have been very responsive and helpful. They say they will get back to you but they _never_ ever do. If the price is the same as someone like Spark (but _not_ 2Degrees!! - avoid them too!!), I'd just go with the larger telcos, at least they get back to you and have the resources to have a decent number of people doing support. I have several business customers I signed up through them as a reseller when they appeared to be good - I'll be moving them as well. ...read more

Pros:

I was going to say price but, really, they're no cheaper or faster than anyone else now. There are no Pros at all

Cons:

Terrible, terrible support. If you don't have any issues you may be OK, but if you do it will be a nightmare for you. Also, if you need a PTR record for your domain they try to charge you $20 a month for it!!!

I made a mistake of switching to MyRepublic without checking their reviews. They made a whole lot of errors from the beginning of the contract.
I have asked for a connection 30 days after placed the order, but they went ahead and started connection in 5 days. So I ended up paying for both ISPs :(. I have pointed out this to them and had a lot of conversations around this which didn't get anywhere, but denying its not their fault. It is chorus who dealt with connection and they can't accept any liabilities of the other companies fault. (As if they are trying to imply that i was appointed Chorus to do the work).
6 weeks after all these chaos i found out that they didn't port my phone number as other ISP is still billing me.
I contacted MyRepublic again to confirm this, they acknowledged that this is their fault, but refused to reimburse for the damages caused by them, saying that this is a human error which could happen to anyone. I am so pissed off with their arrogance and poor customer service. I am now taking this to dispute tribunal.

Worst internet ever. No reliable connection, it is ALWAYS dropping and can't use the internet for anything. Have asked for a new modem but still the same bad connection. Paying the earlier termination fee as it is not worth having a deal if it does not work.

Cons:

Everything. Poor connection
