Back in 2007, Trustpower Phone & Internet (then known as Kinect), began providing phone services to residential customers. The same year, we began offering services over ADSL to residential and business customers.

In 2010, we successfully implemented an ISP network and began providing internet services directly to our customers. As is the case today, our service was supported by Trustpower’s strong wholesale relationships with network companies.

In 2011, the Government committed $1.35 billion to build an Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) network throughout New Zealand. We soon started planning to offer UFB to customers and connected our first ultra fast broadband customer in August 2012. Today, we provide over 500 customers with phone and internet services over UFB. Internet speeds range from 30 megabits to 100 megabits per second.

In 2013 we had 27,500 telecommunications customers. Over 16,000 of them were with us for their broadband service, and the number continues to grow.

As always, we strive to offer our customers quality service. We are also committed to ongoing innovation and excellence across the telecommunications sector. Trustpower is a member of the Telecom Carriers Forum (TCF).

Was charged $300 for cancelling my contract. However still got a bill for the next month for Boradband. When querying it I was told I didn't notify them for cancellation. My question is how did they charge me for cancelation when they didn't know I can cancelling?? I was asked to pay for it - which I did.
They blamed Spark my next service provider for not notifying them. I have this on email...
What a money making scheme!

Cons:

Brand bard is not up to speed it fell over now and then hence why we changed.

Accidentally got locked in to a two-year contract at $94-a-month, which is pretty steep for a fairly basic service.

The landline and broadband service was 55% more expensive than the cheapest equivalent service available. The large amount of rainfall in the recent months caused the underground water table to rise higher than previously. Underground copper cable joints in the higher areas began to feel the effect of this higher water table. My copper voice service was down for a month and the broadband speed dropped to 200kbs at one stage.

Pros:

An average ISP service.

Cons:

No reason to pay more for equivalent service

Supplier not interested in providing best value plan once off the original sign up special. You just default to an expensive plan.

Have had a good run with Trustpower for 2.5yrs.
Had several services - 1 bill one payment with discount, thought it was a great deal
Genesis came knocking and could save a whopping $80+ per month!
Why wouldn't you move?

Pros:

Stable provider, but sadly didn't look after their existing customers.
Upon notification of departure they offered $200 credit, which I could make in savings in 3 months with Genesis

Cons:

Upon notification of departure they offered $200 credit, which I could make in savings in 3 months with Genesis
Done little too late to secure my business.
New sign ups receive new fridges / washing machines / TV's - wonder how they can offer these - higher than normal prices over the term of your contract will probably pay for them and more! ...read more

Pushy sales staff. Poor internet service. Atrocious customer service. Expect long waits on hold (30 mins+). Excessive cancellation fees. Never again and I'll actively recommend against them.

Pros:

They send the bill on time.

Cons:

Terrible customer service. Rude staff. Excessive fees.
