Back in 2007, Trustpower Phone & Internet (then known as Kinect), began providing phone services to residential customers. The same year, we began offering services over ADSL to residential and business customers.
In 2010, we successfully implemented an ISP network and began providing internet services directly to our customers. As is the case today, our service was supported by Trustpower’s strong wholesale relationships with network companies.
In 2011, the Government committed $1.35 billion to build an Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) network throughout New Zealand. We soon started planning to offer UFB to customers and connected our first ultra fast broadband customer in August 2012. Today, we provide over 500 customers with phone and internet services over UFB. Internet speeds range from 30 megabits to 100 megabits per second.
In 2013 we had 27,500 telecommunications customers. Over 16,000 of them were with us for their broadband service, and the number continues to grow.
As always, we strive to offer our customers quality service. We are also committed to ongoing innovation and excellence across the telecommunications sector. Trustpower is a member of the Telecom Carriers Forum (TCF).

Pushy sales staff. Poor internet service. Atrocious customer service. Expect long waits on hold (30 mins+). Excessive cancellation fees. Never again and I'll actively recommend against them.
They send the bill on time.
Terrible customer service. Rude staff. Excessive fees.

Summary: Don't choose it.
Together with power it appears to be a cheaper choice, but as power is much more expensive than other suppliers it is no advantage in the end.
Support standard is at the lower range. Although the speed test suggests high transfer rates the reality looks different. Appears as if the gateway between Trustpower and the fibre uplink has it's limitations or gets fil ...read more

Slow speeds for the $90 a month we paid
Cheaper if combined with their power
Pricey $90 for 50up 20down

Was combined with power. We are now getting power from a different supplier.
Was at a reduced rate when included with power on the account,
Could not separately invoice for fibre broadband from power account without incurring additional charges.

They offered to increase my speed if I paid more and committed to a year... LOL. obviously I went to another provider that was faster and cheaper.

I switched to Trustpower a while back to bundle everything on one bill. What a disaster that was. We had no end of issues with dropping out connections, slow speeds. The technical team were really useless. Trustpower should stick to offering power only, they are not equipped to offer broadband

Had fibre installed 2 weeks ago as grandson lives with me now and he games and i was on an ADSL with which i had no issues. Since fibre has been installed i have rang Trustpower 3 times as there is issues with speed and dropping out and now after speaking to them again and resetting Netcomm Router and the Customer Services person resetting some things i can not connect at all. Cant wait 2 year contract to finish. Seems to be false advertising regarding fast internet
Power/Phone/Internet all in one.
Fibre absolute rubbish. Slower than ADSL.

I have changed plans because I was unable to access better priced internet plans without returning my power to them which I had already moved because it was cheaper with Black Box Power.
Reliable customer service
Much more expensive than other providers

Trustpower was equitable as long as we had power and internet bundled. As soon as we split the bundle their internet charges skyrocketed. Then we were 'bribed' to come back to them. If they cant give us the best deals as loyal customers then don't offer incentives once we leave!!

Paying for 100mbps and on some days getting 1.3 Mbps . Frequent total outages.
power and internet together
Hard to reach complaints. Hopeless obscurantist reasons and denial. Simply cannot be 'trusted'.
